A tour along the most famous sites in Athens centre, including Hadrian’s Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, House of Parliament, The ex-Royal Palace (guarded by the colourful Evzones), Panathinaiko Stadium and the Theatre of Dionysos. At the end of the tour the Acropolis will be visited including the famous Parthenon and the museum
Commence your evening with a drive to Pnyx Hill from where you will watch the Sound & light spectacle. Then visit a typical Greek tavern in the Plaka district for dinner with floor show.
Leave Athens for a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) to Cape Sounion. Here you will visit the 5th century BC temple of Poseidon with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world (on a clear day you can see at least seven islands). The Doric columns are made of local marble. The precipice is a sheer 197-foot drop to the sea
A visit to the Argolis region, including Mycene, the plain of Argos, the bay of Nafplion and Epidavros. Leave Athens in the morning for the Corinth Canal via the new scenic highway (short stop at the Canal). The Fortress of Acro Corinth can be seen on top of a hill. A visit will be made to Mycene, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Greece famous for the Lion Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Proceed to Nafplion for lunch. During the afternoon a visit to the ancient theatre of Epidavros is programmed. This theatre is worldwide known for its fabulous acoustics. Return to Athens
Leave Athens in the morning for Delphi via the National highway passing by Thebes - Levadia (short stop) - Arachova. Guided tour of the ancient site and the museum of Delphi with its spectacular finds including the world-famous Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos and wonder at the Ancient Sanctuary of Apollo. After lunch return to Athens with a short stop at the picturesque mountain village of Arachova built on the south slopes of Parnassos, famous for its attractive handwoven carpets and quilts as well as for its wine and cheese.

Aegina, the biggest island in the Saronic Gulf inhabited from the 2nd mil. BC.
Two important archaeological sites can be found, such as the Temple of Athena
Aphaia, as well as a large cathedral dedicated to St. Nectarios the last
canonised Saint of the Greek Orthodox Church. Cruise through the straits to
Poros, a beautiful small island covered with pine and lemon trees.

Corinth then on to Mikines (visit). Proceed to Nafplia and then on to Epidavros
to visit the Ancient Theatre. Overnight in Nafplio. |
